1.15 ct Natural Pinkish Red Ruby from Sri Lanka — Dual Certified

$2,250.00

This natural ruby displays a vivid pinkish-red color, with lively flashes of red, pink and magenta visible as the stone moves in the sunlight. Its softly rounded cushion shape gives it a classic appearance, while the mixed-cut faceting helps distribute color and brilliance across the face of the gemstone.

The ruby is accompanied by two independent gemological reports. The primary report from Professional Gem Sciences Laboratory records a weight of 1.15 carats, while an earlier report from Tokyo Gem Laboratory in Thailand records 1.16 carats. This minor difference is because I fixed a small abrasion on the stone after purchasing it.

Both laboratories identify the gemstone as a natural ruby. It is at the far pink end of the spectrum and is not priced as a rich red ruby would be priced for that reason. But names aside, this bright stone emits life from the very first moment you look at it. Both reports confirm evidence of traditional heat enhancement. The PGSL report further attributes the ruby’s geographic origin to Sri Lanka, historically known as Ceylon, one of the world’s most respected sources of fine ruby and sapphire.

The stone was personally acquired during a gemstone-buying trip to Thailand many years ago. This documented history, together with its dual certification, gives the ruby an added sense of provenance and makes it especially appealing as a collectible gemstone.

The Otzera Perspective

This ruby combines attractive color, documented Sri Lankan origin and an unusually well-supported gemological history. Its dual certification provides added confidence in its natural identity, while its personal buying-trip provenance gives the stone a story that extends beyond its laboratory specifications.

Each Otzera gemstone is individually selected for its beauty, character and collectible appeal. This ruby is extraordinarily clean and free from inclusions for ruby, making it an attractive stone for a collector with discerning taste.
