Traditional birthstones provide a wonderful starting point for gemstone discovery, but the world of gems is much larger. The Otzera Gem Calendar expands that tradition by exploring related mineral groups and collector gemstones throughout the year — giving us the freedom to select material for its beauty, rarity, character and overall collecting interest rather than limiting every month to a single variety.

The O50 Collector Evaluation
More Than a Gemstone. A Reason It Belongs in Your Collection.
Every Gem Club gemstone is evaluated using the O50, Otzera’s proprietary 50-point collector evaluation system. The O50 considers the characteristics that matter when looking at a gemstone as a collectible object:

The O50 is designed to make professional gemstone evaluation easier to understand while preserving the differences that make every gemstone species unique. A higher membership level does not simply mean a higher O50 number — gemstone value and collector importance can also be influenced by species, size, rarity, treatments, origin, cutting, color and other characteristics.
The objective is always the same: to select a gemstone worth collecting.
Your Digital Gem Collection
A Permanent Record of Every Stone
Curated and Premier members receive a Digital Gem Passport for each monthly gemstone. The passport creates a permanent record of the exact stone in your collection and may include its identity, weight, measurements, treatment disclosure, O50 evaluation, imagery and other relevant collector information.
As your membership grows, so does the documented history of your Otzera collection.

Gem Club is designed around long-term collecting rather than one-time purchases. As your membership grows, Otzera recognizes important Collector Milestones with enhanced selections and special membership benefits.
Enhanced Selection
Your first major Collector Milestone, recognized with an enhanced monthly selection.

A special anniversary selection recognizing one full year of collecting with Otzera.
Collector Milestone
A long-term Collector Milestone with an elevated selection chosen to recognize the collection you have built.
Milestone selections may emphasize rarity, size, beauty, unusual collector characteristics or another meaningful upgrade appropriate to your membership level and collection.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are all Gem Club gemstones natural?
Yes. Gem Club is exclusively for natural gemstones. Otzera does not substitute laboratory-grown or synthetic gemstones into Gem Club selections. Any known or detected treatments relevant to a gemstone will be disclosed.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is billed separately from your membership and added to each monthly renewal:
Discovery Collector: $15 per shipment.
Curated and Premier Collector: $25 per shipment, reflecting the higher declared value and insurance on those selections.
Every Gem Club shipment is insured, tracked and sent to U.S. addresses only.
Will I know what gemstone I am receiving?
That depends on your membership.
Discovery Collector: Otzera selects your gemstone.
Curated Collector: Otzera selects your gemstone using your Preference Profile as a guide.
Premier Collector: Otzera presents three privately curated options and you select the gemstone you would like to receive.
Can I exchange a gemstone if it isn’t right for me?
Exchanges are available on request at any membership level, but they are not included in the membership price. If a stone isn’t right for you, contact us and we will tell you what an exchange involves for that particular gemstone — the exchange and its insured shipping in both directions are billed to you.
This is separate from a gemstone that arrives damaged, incorrectly fulfilled or materially not as described. Those are our responsibility and are put right at no cost to you, as set out in our Refund Policy.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes — at any time, from your account, without contacting us.
Canceling stops future billing. It takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for, and that month’s gemstone is still selected and shipped to you.
Canceling does not reverse a charge already made or recall a gemstone already sent. Every gemstone you have received is yours to keep. If a stone arrives damaged, incorrect or materially not as described, that is covered separately by our Refund Policy at no cost to you.
Can I pause my membership?
Members may request a one-month pause when necessary. If you are traveling or temporarily unable to receive a shipment, you may also contact us to arrange a delayed shipping date.
Gem Club memberships are designed as continuous monthly collecting programs, so individual months cannot otherwise be skipped.
Will I receive the same type of gemstone more than once?
Possibly — and sometimes intentionally. Gemstone families such as sapphire, tourmaline, quartz and beryl can contain an enormous range of colors, varieties and collector characteristics. They may therefore appear in more than one month of the Otzera Gem Calendar.
Your individual gemstone, however, is always a unique stone selected for your collection.
Is the value of my gemstone equal to my monthly membership price?
Gem Club is not structured as a mechanical dollar-for-dollar gemstone box. Your membership includes professional selection, evaluation, curation, fulfillment and — depending on your plan — personalization, documentation and choice.
Gemstones themselves also vary significantly in value based on species, size, rarity, treatment, origin, color, cutting and collector significance.
Our goal is not simply to match a price tag. Our goal is to send you a gemstone worth adding to your collection.
